ICYMI: 127th Annual Meeting of the Membership

Nearly 580 prominent leaders and officials attended the 127th Annual Meeting of the Membership on Tuesday, January 10 at The Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. Despite missing his flight due to inclement weather in Oregon, Gary Fish, founder & CEO of Deschutes Brewery, spoke to the crowd via video and answered several questions from guests.

The Chamber also unveiled its Hall of Fame. From universities to furniture stores, 14 local businesses were honored for their 100+ years of Chamber membership. Vice President of Membership and Brand Strategy, Cally Smith said, “We were so excited to discover that Roanoke Regional Chamber had 14 businesses as members for more than 100 years. It is an honor to welcome them as the first inductees into the Hall of Fame.”

The Chamber also honored the Roanoke City and Roanoke County Law Enforcement Officers of the Year and introduced Nathan Kerr, vice president of Scott Insurance, as the 2017 Chairman of the Board. The Roanoke Regional Chamber is looking forward to another year of promoting, stimulating and improving business in Virginia’s Blue Ridge.
